7:30 am — Arrival

She knows the sound of
the gravel before the gate opens.

Every dog arrives into a two-stage airlock paddock — no direct contact until we've read the brief, checked the notes, and done a proper nose-to-nose with whoever's here already. Anxious arrivals get a quiet corner and a member of staff sitting on the floor with them until they decide to move.

We write every dog's name on the whiteboard with their dietary notes, medication times, and any quirks from the owner's intake form. The board gets updated throughout the day. Nothing gets forgotten.

Today's Board — Sample

Biscuit (Cocker Spaniel) — grain-free only, anxious on arrival, loves the blue ball

Margo (Greyhound rescue) — slow intro, no rough play before 10am

Ted (Border Collie) — 2× Metacam at noon, high energy, needs the long field

Double-gated entry
Named intake forms
Medication tracked

Rest Hour

Noon to 1pm is mandatory rest. Dogs return to their individual sun-warmed cabins with a frozen Kong. No exceptions — even the ones who pretend they don't need it.

Watched over, not cooped up.

We're not a cage-and-check operation. Every safety system here exists so dogs can have more freedom, not less. The double gate means the paddock door can stay open. The 1:4 ratio means someone always has eyes on the splash pool. The cameras mean you can sleep without wondering.

⬛

“We booked Kennel for a fortnight while we flew to Nairobi. Margo — our rescue greyhound who panics in any new space — sent us her first proper run photo on day two. We cried at the departure gate.”
